Chapter 11 The project Team


 Complete Project needs a team, which is a group of individuals working interdependently to accomplish the project objective. When a project manager start a project, first thing must do is find and choose a team members who are selected based on their expertise and experience but also their availability.

 Project kickoff meeting should be held as early as possible to sets the tone for the project, and provides opportunity for team to know each other. Plus will clarify roles and responsibilities, describe protocols and plans, and allow time for questions and comments.

Successful project team members have to be open to share information, ideas, and feelings. Furthermore provide beneficial feedback to each other on the daily work even if not their task, they need to be a resource to the others on the team.

Project manager need to have diversity on the team because that will create a unique environment of ideas will benefit the project.


Ethical behavior is needed within a project organization and it is critical in project business relationships with the customer, supplier, and subcontractors. Project organization can take action to prevent ethical behavior by having a written policy and to provide training about ethics in the workplace.

Chapter 10 The Project Manager


There are specific responsibilities a successful project manager needs to have such as making sure customer is satisfied, and work scope is completed in quality manner within budget and on time.

The project manager needs to develop an environment to keep all team members in communication connect by providing a proactive planning and outstanding leadership roll. Also project manager need to have all team member involved in the project plan and addressing any problem as soon as it appears to avoid any delay on the schedule.

Project manager skills very important to keep the project going for instance project manager need to remain calm, Cope with constantly changing conditions, act as a buffer between the project team and either the customer or upper management, develop a good sense of humor, and keep physically fit to improve ability to handle stress.

Successful project manager create time for the team members to listen to their feedback and learn from it, by doing that will help team member to release their stress and it will be a learning experience for future projects.

Project manager needs to have self-confidence, integrity and respect for all team members throughout the project.  Additionally need to have self-discipline, and to be able to manage time well and prioritize tasks.
